My personal account of recovering my soul from the grip of alcohol abuse.
Most people are never warned about what comes after the quit. Quitting is not the end of the work. It is the beginning of a deeper reckoning.
This series was made around quitting drinking, and many listeners say it speaks just as well to quitting other things: a relationship, a career, a way of coping, an old identity. Afterward, a quieter question shows up. Why does life still feel off?
It is not a sobriety program, a motivational series, or a step-by-step recovery plan. It is not a replacement for therapy or support groups. It does not tell you what to do.
Grief for the life you did not get to live, and for younger versions of yourself. Loneliness and relearning how to connect. Anger and shame that surface once the numbing stops. Perfectionism as a way of coping. The myth that healing is a straight line. The trap of covering pain with positivity or productivity.
There is no required order or pace. Listen slowly, return to the episodes that fit, and pause when something lands. Some people hear it as a mirror, others as a companion. For many it is simply a relief to hear someone say out loud what they have been carrying quietly.
